Get To Know You Activity

For some of us the beginning of the school year is quickly approaching.  I have been to many workshops and usually we start out with some kind of introduction.  One of my favorites is "Two Truths and A Fib." 

For this one students write down 2 things about themselves that are true and 1 thing that is not true.  They can put it in any order.  This can easily be done on an index card instead of typing it up and wasting your alloted amount of copies.

Then each student takes a turn reading the 3 things they wrote down.  You can do thumbs up or thumbs down with guessing, which one is the fib or have them write it on a white board. 

This could also be done in the older grades for reviewing for tests.  Have your students look through the chapter and write down 2 Facts and 1 thing that isn't true.  You can then use it as a fun game to review for the test!  I believe this would even work in high school!
