Last week the kiddos were off school and after I subbed in 2nd grade on the 22nd I headed for a fun country music concert in Melbourne, Florida called Runway Country Music Festival. It was 3 days and a great birthday celebration since my birthday was the 21st. I got the tickets though for Christmas.
Day 1 was a bit of a drag at first as I waited at least an hour and half just to get inside and find myself a seat (I had general admission). I did get in though in time to see the two singers I wanted to see the most Sara Evans and Dierks Bentley. It rained lightly during Sara's set so she pulled out an umbrella and sang in the rain. She even had on heels! Dierks was excellent too.
Day 2 and 3 I got there before the first performer took the stage and got right in, no wait time! I saw some up and coming singers like The Farm, Parmalee, The Tobacco Road Band (I got to meet 3 of the band members and got their autographs on a 5 song CD they gave for free), and the LoCash Cowboys to name a few. There were also some bigger named artists Craig Morgan, Lady Antebellum, Lynard Skynrd, and Billy Currington. Billy even brought his dog out for his song "Like a Dog." It rained for 2 hours on Sunday and the wind was really strong. Charlie Daniels Band hand to cancel. Their equipment got ruined otherwise it was a fun time!
Check out a few of my pictures of the fun time I had. There is even one in my new glasses. I can't see as well as I used to distance wise, I mostly just use them for driving.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures. Thanks for hoppin' by Hopkins' Hoppin' Happenings. Keep on smiling!
