Fun with Turkeys

We have had so much fun learning about Thanksgiving the past couple of weeks in my Kindergarten class.  If you've read my Positive Friday posts, you know we put on a fun Thanksgiving play and dressed up as Pilgrims, Native Americans (Indians), and Turkeys.  The children looked adorable.  Tuesday they got to dress up as what they didn't get to for the play and a wonderful parent came in to paint their faces!

We also had some fun with some crafts.  Tuesday we did this cute color word turkey pilgrim and Native American craft that I sell.  Click the picture if you'd like to do it after Thanksgiving or to store for next year!  It's only $1.50!

Monday we had a blast making Deanna Jump's Long Legged Turkey's that have the turkeys picketing wanting people to eat something other than turkey!  I got so many compliments on them.  I slightly changed Deanna's example as I didn't want to deal with paint so instead I traced plates on brown paper and the children cut them out and put it together.  Click the picture and it will take you to Deanna Jump's Thanksgiving Math and Literacy Activities, which you can get in her TPT store if you like this great activity.

I wish each and everyone of you a great Thanksgiving.  Have a great time off from work.  I am extra thankful this year having been hired to teach in a wonderful school with amazing students, parents, administrators, grade level teammates, office staff, guidance counselor, custodians, and all of the other wonderful teachers and people who make the school run so smoothly.  Everyone has been so helpful and kind to me.

Thanks for hoppin' by Hopkins' Hoppin' Happenings.  Keep on smiling!
