Tutoring Tuesdays - May 21st, 2019
Happy Tuesday! The past couple of weeks, I didn't get to today as they were canceled, but I finally got to tutor last week. Sadly, it was my last tutoring session with this absolutely incredible third grader who I have tutored since the 3rd nine weeks of her Kindergarten year. The family made me feel like home. Her parents are absolutely incredible wonderful people. They told me if she gets stuck on a skill next school year they will give me a call to help her with that skill. The doctor told them it is best for her not to tutor weekly as then she will think she's not good at Math and it would hurt her confidence.
On the last tutoring session we continued to work on long division with 2 digits by using my Camera 2 Digit Long Division Task Cards. She also checked it with multiplication. There are 24 task cards in color and black and white plus an answer key and recording sheet. She still made some careless mistakes, but she is very capable of doing this tough 5th grade skill.
I do not plan to take on any new tutoring students. I am on the hunt for an office job. I will come up with a new series of blog posts soon to showcase my resources!
Thank you for hoppin' by Hopkins' Hoppin' Happenings! Keep on smiling!
